Mentoring and Training Program
The objective of this project is to establish English and computer centers in the districts of Islam Qala, Zinda Jan, and Ghorian in Herat province, Afghanistan. The program aims to provide training and mentoring to a total of 840 male and female students, enhance the capacity of governmental staff in three districts, build the capacity of community shura members, and train local English and computer trainers.
Establishment of English and Computer Centers: The project will establish three English and computer centers in the districts of Islam Qala, Zinda Jan, and Ghorian in Herat province. These centers will serve as training hubs for students seeking to acquire English language skills and computer literacy. The centers will provide a conducive learning environment equipped with necessary resources and technology.
Training for 840 Male and Female Students: A total of 840 male and female students will be enrolled in the training program offered at the English and computer centers. The program will focus on English language learning and computer literacy skills. Students will receive comprehensive training to develop their proficiency in both areas, enabling them to enhance their educational and employment opportunities.
Capacity Enhancement of Governmental Staff: The project aims to enhance the capacity of 30 governmental staff members working in Kuhsan, Ghorian, and Zinda Jan districts of Herat province. These staff members will receive specialized training and mentoring to improve their skills and knowledge in their respective roles. The training will be tailored to address the specific needs and requirements of the staff members to enhance their efficiency and effectiveness in delivering services to the community.
Capacity Building of Community Shura Members: The project will focus on building the capacity of 120 male and female members of community shuras in Zinda Jan, Kuhsan, and Ghorian districts of Herat province. The training will include topics such as leadership skills, conflict resolution, community engagement, and effective governance. The capacity building efforts will empower community shura members to actively participate in decision-making processes and contribute to the development and well-being of their communities.
Training of Local English and Computer Trainers: To ensure sustainability and long-term impact, the project will train 30 local individuals as English and computer trainers in Zinda Jan, Ghorian, and Kuhsan districts of Herat province. These trainers will receive comprehensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and effective instructional techniques. By training local trainers, the project aims to create a pool of skilled professionals who can continue to provide quality education and training in English and computer skills beyond the project’s duration.
