Empowering Protecting Afghan Children in Crisis
In Herat, Afghanistan, children face unimaginable challenges caused by ongoing conflict, chronic poverty, political instability, and recurrent natural disasters like drought. These compounded crises have forced countless families into displacement, leaving children particularly vulnerable to violence, exploitation, and neglect. Without access to education, healthcare, or protection services, many children are exposed to child labor, early marriages, and unsafe migration.
The Rehabilitation and Welfare Development Organization for Afghanistan (RWDOA) is stepping up to address this crisis with an urgent mission: to restore and strengthen child protection systems in Herat and its surrounding regions. At the heart of this initiative is the reactivation of a dedicated Child Helpline, a crucial service designed to provide immediate protection, psychosocial support, and access to essential resources for children in distress.
Our Goals:
- Reactivate the Child Helpline to serve as a lifeline for 7,000 vulnerable children, offering psychosocial support, case management, and critical referrals.
- Establish 10 Child-Friendly Spaces in Herat’s most affected areas, providing safe environments where 3,000 children can access psychosocial first aid, structured play, and life skills training.
- Provide Cash Assistance to 3,000 at-risk children, ensuring they receive the resources needed for education, healthcare, and emergency support.
Together, we can provide a lifeline to the most vulnerable.
Your Support Can Save Lives: With your help, we can ensure these children have access to the safe spaces, support systems, and protection services they need to thrive. Together, let’s create a brighter future for Afghanistan’s children.
