Women Economic and Entrepreneurship Development Project
The Women Economic and Entrepreneurship Development Project is designed to support the economic empowerment of women in the Karukh district of Herat province over the course of one year. The project consists of several key components:
Establishment of Women Economic Groups (WEGs): The project aims to promote the economic development of 30 women by setting up three WEGs in three villages within the Karukh district. These WEGs will provide a platform for women to collaborate, share resources, and engage in income-generating activities. The establishment of these groups will be completed within eight months.
Vocational training in tomato paste production: To further enhance the economic development of the targeted women, the project will offer vocational training in tomato paste production. Thirty women from the three villages in the Karukh district will receive training on the various aspects of tomato paste production. Additionally, the project will provide these women with production toolkits to support their endeavors. This training and provision of toolkits will be completed within eight months.
Capacity building for women shuras: The project recognizes the importance of strengthening the capacity of both the Karukh district women shura and the women shuras in the three targeted villages. To achieve this, the project will provide organizational management and marketing training to 20 female members of these shuras. The training will equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively manage the shuras and enhance their marketing strategies. The capacity-building activities for the women shuras will be implemented within the Karukh district of Herat province over a duration of eight months.
Overall, this comprehensive project aims to empower women economically by establishing WEGs, providing vocational training in tomato paste production, and enhancing the capacity of women shuras in the Karukh district. By doing so, the project seeks to create sustainable opportunities for women’s economic growth and development in the targeted communities.
